Heroes and Villains: Day 20
Manosphere
Up from the depths of the burden of privilege,
Frito-Lay evidence warm in his beard,
Sharp as the fork of the Y in a haploid
Rises the villainous wedge MANOSPHERE.
With a tip and a wink, he spills his broad heart out
As if laying the riches of Croesus before her.
But met with a laugh and a milk-gone-bad grimace
Just musters a mousey, “It’s not a fedora!”
Spurned by his lady-love, tearful logs onto the
Digital mirror of sockpuppet friends.
Past turns to myth in strange model of agency;
Comments cascade with a means to an end.
“Here’s a cantrip that will bind her beside you!”
“Here’s why she’s wrong and the earth is still flat.”
“Here’s how the slight turn of history has crushed us.”
“Here’s why you’re better alone. (She sounds fat.)”
Washed in the blood of these infinite shrivers
(For no one that tells you you’re right can be weird)
He stacks up each echo like rounds in a magazine
And plots the next chapter of sharp MANOSPHERE.
