Eels

Bathrobe copped a crate of eels.
Now he sings an eel-song
while Deadboy keeps time
banging a trap with a wooden spoon.
Grandpa dragged his chair
up attic. Cat cats at his heels
as if co-signing the way
the old man rocks, radiates leisure.
The angel hovers, uninvited, jawline
like The Fonz: full of cool approval
for Deadboy and his watchful mom,
tempera lemon noise
resounding their Maker's image.
