Winter Treats

Chickadee on a hollybranch.
Snow swaddles the spray of berries, gauze
catching an urgent nosebleed.

Color is a siren in winter:
I want to go on, find me.

The little blackcap
in her background suit
feels called to harmonize
survival: Season

can't kill us. This is
my name, name, name name.
