Poem On: Day 19

Yamper (#835)

Before I evolved, heart
was a vacant pup, kicking
up useless lightning,
at heel to the last hand
to dangle a treat.
Still loyal. A leaner
haunch. Faster. I’ve killed
a rabbit. The lolling tongue
of trust knew sweet.
What a silly island
to live on, starving
for choice.
