30:30 2014, Day 14
Subjunctive
On his sabbatical package tour
through madness, the mathematician
built glasses of mirrors and cardstock
blinders, to see the fourth and fifth
dimensions. Gamely staggered
through the gardens of Oxford
tripping on the present. In Spanish
class they teach the ninth graders
the past tense of being is the same
as going. All motion is equation,
after it's passed. A fact to memorize,
like the word for clock or how
to decline it. You need it to understand
the story of the fevered knight
and the windmill that mocked him.
