Pickup Poem Day 29
Loom Knitting
Fire up the heating pad and dance the spine
of recursive plastic dragon. Hands saved
from feeds and devils. At the end a toque.
Repeat. Worry your family
into matching gnomes from tiny
Hallmark books bought only
by old ladies. But warm. 90 per cent
of survival escapes through the head.
Best tie off the last and start again
the downy slalom through shrinking
forest. Confirm what we call escape
is just tying knots with eyes averted.
