Holiday 5

First Contact Day

If man makes wings, then he was always meant to fly.
No physics holds the stories we invent to fly.

Pure logic says the solid ground is safe for years
but even logic's tapestry is rent to fly.

If future's hopeful opera, past is overture,
the first chair setting pitch, each player bent to fly.

A world's a prison to an endless builder's brain,
no angle right enough, too innocent to fly.

Your mom's voice: If it warps, believe then it can break.
Of course we'll have to ask some stern docent to fly.

If there are some things strange left, let us dock with friends.
We must not become too omnipotent to fly.
