The Perils of Penelope Pitstop

When you left me, I was about
to die. The method was slow,
whimsical, composed
on a theme. Such a trifling
contraption, I was bound
to live, and you could stare
at a girl squirming for fear
of her life while your mother
made breakfast. A week passed.
I am saved by seven killers.
Now I am elsewhere in the world,
chasing danger, says the man
telling my story within the soft
walls of the sound studio.
